Yesterday my father and I went to buy another bale of hay (I always have atleast 2 in the garage at once!) I like to think I have trained him well. First he remarked how crappy most of the hay in the petstores are (said we should bag the stemmy bits from our bale and sell it to the stores) and second he agreed that what you get was not worth the money! We pay $5.75 for a 40lb-50lb bale and like 48oz of Oxbow hay was $22. You do the math!

On a side note, I love spring. I get to hang the pigies laundry outside to dry, yay low energy costs! Also with it being spring that means gardening! I already bought a bunch of seeds ranging from cilantro to tomatoes. I actually found about 7 heads of lettuce growing in my garden under about 5in of composting leaves. It happens to be the piggies favorite lettuce too! Speaking of compost we have lots, and now a standing bin and a rotating bin.
