We saw this just now when we went to look after our guinea pig. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? It's a huge bald spot. He seems fine other than that.... Running around and eating.

It looks like mites or a fungal infection. See a vet right away. Before its to late.

It looks like it may be ringworm. The name is misleading. Ringworm is actually a fungal infection that IS TRANSMITTABLE to humans, so please be careful. It would be best to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. If it is ringworm there is a cream that is also used for humans that is sold at lots of places, CVS included. Do not take my word for it because this could be any number of diseases or infections. Check your other piggies, if you have any others, to see if they have any other similar symptoms. Good luck!

How is everything? Is your piggy okay?

Also, if you are wanting help and expecting someone to reply to your post, please post a thread. A blog won't get as many views and is hard to get lots of comments. :)

There is definitely something wrong. Should be mites, ring worm, or a bite from some sort of insect. Please take your guinea pig to the vet immediately.
