Cool, Cheap, Cave (CCC!)

I got this cool idea!
Ok, for a cheap house, you can take a piece of string and tie it to the 2nd to the top of a cube. tie it to two sides, and then take a newspaper and drape it on top, and wa-la! Put in some timothy-hay and (my) guinea pigs love it!

I have done a similar thing using a piece of fleece. My pigs love it and it helps them stay warm since I keep my thermostat at 65. Here are some pictures:

What a great idea! Unfortunately my pigs are major paper eaters so the newspaper idea would go from hidey tent to meal-time in a real hurry. But I love the pictures of the fleece, and I think I'll try it. I'm sure the pigs will love it!

I think mine would even find a way to destroy the string. They are working on the nylon straps that hold up their hammocks.

That's a neat idea, since my pigs do chew up the newspaper, so I have to change it every day. Where can you get the fleece?

Starfire, Go to photbucket .com and start an account if you don't already have one. Resize your photos for here to about 3x5 and then uplaod to photobucket. After you will run two browsers and copy the IMG photo and paste it here in a post. When I say two browsers I mean bring this site up then minus it and bring your internet up again and go to photobucket. you will go back and forth between the two pages/websites.

Just wanted to thank you for the fabulous idea! Both cages have a little "teepee" now and they LOVE it! *I* love it because it costs nothing and is easy to clean. Here's my little Swiper enjoying her tent:

I've been just hanging a piece of fleece down the side of the grids for some time now, and it's one of the piggies favorite places.
