Our oldest femal, Bandit, had a lump under her chin. About a week later it was gone Well I trimmed her nails last night and her left breast has a lump!!! It is hard as a rock and worries me. I am woundering if I should wait a week and recheck it or just call the vet and spend and arm and a leg (which I don't have right now because we are paying for our own high risk pregnancy.) I love Bandit and don't want her in pain. Has anyone else ever had a pig that looked like she was getting breast cancer???
Mammary cancer is not unknown in guinea pigs. The good news is, full removal of the cancer (and usually the nipple and surrounding area) usually produces full recovery and no return of the cancer.
You can call your vet and ask about a payment plan, or see if they take CareCredit.
