Hi, I'm all ready to sew...materials measured and cut etc.

im just wanting to make sure that the way I plan to do this will work...so if someone can confirm these 'plans' for me, I would appreciate it!

What I'm aiming for - 3 layers: fleece top, uhaul middle, bottom PUL

I plan to lay the uhaul down on the table, put the PUL on top of that, shiny side up, and then lay the fleece on top of the PUL, good side facing down.
Ill see the three layers together on 3 sides.
Turn inside out! (I'm hoping that the layers will now be in the correct order)
Then close the open end (seams tucked in)
Lastly, sew a square in the middle to keep all layers together.

Does that sound right?
Will the end result be layered correctly?

They should be layered correctly at that point. With the pad that I just sewed I pinned everything and then sort of did a half-inside out pull just to make sure the layering was right and then turned it again, made adjustments and sewed away!

Thanks guys!
3 hours later...I've got a nice cage liner!
If it weren't for my lack of sewing skills, I'm sure I would have been done sooner.
getting the material to stay straight (even with pins) is a task.
But I am very happy with the way it came out!

Question...I flipped it inside out and sewed it shut, and then I made an inner square stich, 6 inches inside from the edges.
Do I also need to make an outer edge stich...like 1/2 inch from the edge? Or will it be ok without that extra?

It should be ok without the extra, but if yours is designed to go up the sides of the cage at all it might help it to go all the way into the crease before going up. Does that make sense?
