We are finally done with one level of the Pigtropolis cage. We were a little behind because we all got the cold/flu/sinus infection from hell, blegh!
We also have a hold up on the coroplast b/c my source has had a family emergency and we have to wait until his wife gets better. But we are making do with double layers of visqueen and I painted the base with a waterproofing paint just as a precaution.

They seem to be pretty happy so far. They got a nice little bath together to enter their new home clean and neutral, keeping my fingers crossed. I hope to get the ramps completed this week and sew the special shaped pads for the upper level

Checking out their new space and having some salad from a new hanging basket. Seems to work well for veggies not cut to small.
Of course they won't keep their pigloos on the potty pads, little stinkers.

I really like your habitat. 2 questions; what size wire mesh did you use for the walls? And where did you find your hay rack? - it looks awesome, like a wine bottle holder.

oh, I have a fairly uniquely shaped floorplan as well (though no cut-outs). I made a pad by layering a cheap-o waterproof mattress cover (twin mattress size) with 2 layers of microfiber toweling (just my choice of absorbant layer). It is sewn together around the edges, and that's it. I do not have any coroplast in my cage.

The wire is 1"x1" rabbit fencing that comes in a 25' roll from, the hardware store.
The big silver hay rack is a sideways paper towel holder I Ziptied to the side. I found at Ross for only $8

Your cage looks great. I'd close the sides and top of the hay bin because if they jump in there, they can easily break their legs with the openings in the bottom. Guinea pigs are pretty good jumpers when they're motivated.

Thanks for the tip pinky. It's just zip tied on, I can move it over a few inches so it's against the dot when it's closed.

Chester can definitely get some air! He demonstrated during his bath, lol.

I must say that this is one of the coolest cages I have seen built.

Thanks piggydaddy!
Moved the hay rack over so nobody can jump in it and added a beefier temporary kitchen box. Chester is currently staking his claim to the kitchen
