I've been a piggie owner since I was about 6. I've grown up with piggies. At around the age of 7 I had 6 piggies at once. I obviously love piggies lol. I have currently one now. Now that I'm older, I'm 14 now and know a lot about piggies. Id love to start a YouTube channel about proper care got piggies. Does anyone have advice for me? What should I make my first video on.

Welcome to the forum!
I wouldn't recommend making a video on care unless you're 100% sure about the information you're giving out, we don't want new owners getting misleading information on things like pregnancy etc. If you're very used to handling them, you could make a tutorial on how to handle pigs?

The first thing I'd do is look at the jillions of youtubes on guinea pig care that already exist and see if you think the world really needs another one.

The second thing is to run your ideas by some of the more experienced people on the forum and make sure you're giving correct advice. Length of time in caring for pigs doesn't always mean that an owner knows the best ways of doing things. And we've seen some longtime owners with some pretty awful advice.

Oh, how true! Thank you for bringing that up.

One really has to think critically about the advice ANYONE offers. Don't just take it at face value.......do a lot of research and consult scholarly sources.......not just what you may have read here on the Forum. Unfortunately, few of us have access to scholarly veterinarian forums to know that the advice is sound. And, for those who may be young and/or inexperienced, they don't know who here on the Forum has good advice. To complicate matters, some of us who are more experienced don't always agree.

My ultimate resource is my vet who is a specialist in exotic animals. If she doesn't have the answer, she will look it up and send the information to me. She is thoughtful enough to sometimes say, "We really don't know........I suggest you try this, or this, or that" which is exactly what I was told yesterday. And, how thoughtful to say, "I'll call you in a week and see how he is doing".

Thanks guys for your advice, after hearing all of this I might just wait and do further research to make sure I give accurate advice for people.

what about a vidio about things not to do when you have a guinea pig??

That's a good idea. I think I should also make a video about how important it is that guinea pig owners provide cages for them that are size appropriate and that thy need a lot more space than just a pet store cage. List all of the pros of the c&c cages and cons of the pet store cages.
