Hi, I'm getting two female guinea pigs soon and their cage will be in the room that my brother and I share. We will be getting bunk beds and the cage will replace his bed. I measured his bed which is 3x5, will that be enough room for two piggies? Will one box of the grids for a C&C be enough for a cage of that size? Do they sell sheets of choroplast that big? If not, what are the other alternatives for making a cage?

Welcome!

3x5 ft or 3x5 grids? A grid is a little bigger than a foot. It's 14", so a 3x5 grid cage is 42" x 70".
Either way, it's big enough for two piggies.

A 3x5 grid cage uses 16 grids. A box of grids is enough.

A regular sheet of coroplast is 4x8 ft. It's big enough.

Its 3x5 ft.
Thanks for the help!
Also, do guinea pigs like to chew on toilet paper/paper towel rolls? I've been saving them just in case, but want to know if I should stop.

They do like to chew on the rolls, but I've stopped giving them to mine. Someone contacted toilet paper manufacturers and they've recommended against giving them to pets. The glue used on the rolls are not designed to be ingested.

Oh, ok. Well I'll stop collecting them then. Better not to take the risk. Thanks again!

You're welcome!

We love to see pictures. Please share some pics once you have your pigs.

Will you be adopting from a rescue or shelter?

Oh and I also have a question about feeding. I see everywhere that you need to feed one cup of veggies per pig per day, but how do I know how much a cup of veggies is?

You can chop up your veggies and put in a measuring cup. After a while you'll be able to wing it.

Thanks.
Now that I know how to do it it seems it would be obvious lol.

Thanks, my mom at first didn't understand why I didn't just get them from a pet store and I had to explain to her that I don't like to get ANYTHING from pet stores, especially not the pets themselves.
