This is not the forum to post this question in. I will move it to the appropriate forum.

It would have to be some very special cubes you would use to make it. Syrian hamsters can squeeze through the tiniest of gaps.

Just something for you to think about, Those cages you showed didn't have tops on them. And my hamster can climb up the fence that i block stuff of with very easy so i would rethink that. Really if you have any other pets. It's a great idea and if your going to put a cover over it that go for it, But make sure that the spaces arn't big enough for your hamster to get through.

The gaps between the mesh cubes (i.e. where the connectors are) are big enough that my Syrian could squeeze through. The cage pictured above is for dwarves. Syrians are far more crafty - I had one that figured out how to open the cage door. It is not suitable to have an open top. They climb on top of food bowls and water bottles and can jump higher than you could imagine. It would have to involve a lot of thought and knowledge of Syrian hamsters to create a cage that is escape proof.

I have a syrian hamster and he is really happy in a cage like this

Or if you wanted to go really big then you could chose this:

Hope that helps!

I use Rubbermaid bins with holes drilled in the sides.
