General Question about Guinea Sickness

Hello guys, my guinea pig recently died. Me and my mom are wondering what it is from and if what he had was contagious to my other piggies. First of all, he was very unhappy and sat in his fort all day long and barely ate. Second, he always had a wet behind? Is this wet tail or something else. Thanks if you know.

I'm not sure of the wet tail, but lethargic guinea pig can be a sign of a URI. I would check out guinealynx. They have a lot of information about guinea pig sickness.

Guinea pigs don't get wet tail. It would be impossible for us to say what your pig died from even if you provided details about the situation. All we could do is speculate which doesn't change anything or help in any way. The only way to know for sure is to get a necropsy.

Did your pig get to see a vet? How long was he not eating before he passed away?

We won't know what he had. The only way you will know is to get a necropsy.

He has been to the vet about 1 year ago for mites, and it was about 1 month before he died we noticed his strange eating habits.
