Cage Is plastic poster boards as good as coroplast?

I am wondering, as looking for cheaper but safe alternatives that are available to me, is there certain poster boards that I could use instead of coroplast? Would that still work?

I'm sorry if there is another thread like this already out there but I couldn't find it.

I'm not sure about poster boards, but some people use shower curtains instead of coroplast.

For what I want to do, shower curtains wouldn't work as well. I found a coroplast supplier that sells a 48"by96" sheets for $15 each. I am set now. I plan on getting grids from walmart and coroplast from that website. it will cost me a total of $59 in total. I'm happy with that.
