The pigs have foot spurs. I am going to take them to the vet so he can clip them off and I can learn how.

Also, Mu has a like red spot under his chin. There ia a little patch around it too. About the size of one of the smiles here.:grumpy:

Oh, sorry your pig is having issues! There is a good thread on Guinealynx about foot spurs. The spot on his chin, maybe ringworm? Hope the vet visit goes well! :0)

Omigosh! I just checked out GL for foot spurs. That's what Ginny has! I always thought her pads had just grown a bit. I guess I should cut em' off.

Spurs are easy to cut off, if you can cut nails, you can surely cut spurs. You just cut the dead skin off with a pair of nail clippers as close to the good skin as possible.

Two of my pigs have foot spurs. I just clip them off with toenail clippers. Just be careful not to cut into the live skin, or it will bleed. Just cut it until there's only a little piece hanging and it shouldn't grow back for a few months.

I just cut nails last night and found two of the three w/ foot spurs. I cut most of it off w/ baby clippers (or now they'll be cavy clippers). Anyways, I took my fingernail and was able to scrap away what was left. The girls didn't like either one but I go it done.

Hey, I checked her pads again and she doesn't have them anymore. Do they sometimes just fall off?

At first I thought it was some dry poo, but Dylan has those spurs - I will cut them off in the morning when I clip his claws!
