Hey all, I came home after being gone a few days, cleaned the cage and checked the pigs, everything was fine. I checked Joshua a few hours later and noticed this.

Their cage was cleaned every day except for the four days I was gone, he seems to be happy and be eating normally. Does this look like a swollen teste? Or just impaction?

I just finished cleaning Josh out. I checked him for impaction and he looked pretty clean. It seems like boar glue got stuck to his hair and was dragging his rear. Will call his doctor in the morning. He otherwise seems happy and to be eating like normal. Any advice would be appreciated.

With that much swelling and redness, it could be an abscess. I'd definitely take him to the vet. It's bound to be painful.

I'd go anywhere other than Banfield. If you'll tell us where you are (city and state, not address), we'll see if we can help you find an exotic vet.

There are bound to be many exotic vets in San Francisco. I'd suggest trying google, since you'll know which ones are closer to you.

You can also search at www.guineapigzone.com, and look at the vet list at (broken link removed).

I agree on going to the vet, even tho the swelling has gone down.

Here are 2 I found by googling "exotic vet 94014"

https://www.montclairvethospital.com/

That's the only search I've done right now.

got antibotics from doctor in the meantime, keep eye on it and will wait for my main doctor to ultrasound him, seems like it can be fluid or testicle retraction. but josh is peeing on me and pooping as normal and no pain.

UPDATE!!!
So finally got him into see his reg doctor, and this guy is amazing! <3 squeezed us in with a busy schedule. Hands on examination!!! How it should be I don't trust other vets in the bay area other then this doctor hands down! So he has seen this before and basically male guinea pig can descend and ascend their testies. What had happen with josh was that it twisted. So Josh is on antibiotics for the fluid and swelling and hes happy as a clown. If it does not resolve itself or worsens in 2-3 weeks. Doc will remove that testsie. But for now, he was a happy pig while the doctor felt him up. LOL
