Hello, my name is Bec and I've been a "piggy-slave" for around the past nine months!
Both my piggies were adopted from our local animal rescue (the RSPCA, for any fellow Australian members) and are just a bundle of joy and excitement in my life.
Kafka, our resident boar, came to me after he was taken from a large population of pet cavies who were neglected and malnourished
However, he is now in tip-top shape - in a healthy weight range, and given the freedom to run around each day with his best piggie friend and loving human.
Chidori is our little girl (all animals from the RSPCA are desexed before rehoming, including guinea pigs, so there's no breeding issue here!) and she is a bundle of noise and quirks - her name in fact is Japanese for "the sound of a thousand chirping birds", and she really does live up to it. She was from a family that thought she took up too much of their time, and I quickly took her home to meet our boy and they (luckily) became best friends overnight!
Chidori likes chasing our cats around the house (both of whom are really in good spirits about this, although I am never more than a metre away from the action!) and Kafka is a little more timid, preferring to hide in corners and pigloos munching on his greens.

I'm a big supporter of rescues, and how couldn't I be - look how adorable these two are!
