So I've finally found reasonably priced wire shelving to cat-proof my cage, and I'm going to pick it up soon. I just don't know how to properly use it!

The lid needs to be removable so I can feed and cuddle the pigs, and clean the cage. But it also needs to be stable enough that my cat can't break it. How would I go about safely installing a removable lid?

Note: the lid consists of two pieces of wire shelving, each 16 inches by around 100 inches (to fit a 2x6 cage)

Thanks!

You can ziptie it to one side making it easy to fold up, and secure it with a clasp/spring/small bungie cord to keep it closed?
