Have any of you done that? Do you think it's a good idea to have a hutch in your room with room for storage under and on it? I was thinking of getting one for my two boys until I realized that it's smaller than the cage I have now so that would mean less space.

You can house them in a hutch inside, only if it meets the size recommendations. My hutch is 5ft by 3ft with another level the same measurements, and that meant I could house 4 piggies in there. CandyApple Keeps her guineapigs inside with a run attached to a hutch, and that gives enough space.

Okay, thank you :) The size recommendations are the same for hutches as for other cages aren't they? Or should they be bigger?

You can just put the cage on a table/storage unit, or build a C&C cage with a stand.

I use a hutch inside with fleece and it matches the size recommendations. It works fine for me!
