I just wondered - I came across these furniture blankets which are thin & have like a plastic waterproof backing. I couldnt see this mentioned in other posts. Would it be ok to use this? - except I would need 2 layers, so the backing will have to be stripped off one of the blankets........?

Uhaul blankets are commonly used as the absorbant layer undeneath fleece.

Thanks.. I was planning to have 2 layers if the furniture blankets underneath, as recommended, but wondered about the backing as. I couldn't see any mention if such. Or would it be better to buy a thick one (more expensive) & just have one layer?

if its plastic, it will of course block any moisture from seeping through.
you could try removing it, or try with just one layer first. It might require a little more frequent changing :) if the thicker one is not TOO much more expensive, its probably easier to go for it

Uhaul sells pads and blankets. The blankets are polyester and are not absorbent. What are your blankets made of?

They're made of recycled denim/wool/cotton I think, definitely not polyester. Thanks

You don't want wool. I have some wool blankets I tried and they don't work. You want 100% cotton.

ACtually, it works really well. I am using them right now, and I am glad I did. Planning to go get 1 more package of it :D
