I adopted my Oliver from the rescue I volunteer at in early December.
Over the last 2 mos we tried a few different "dates" with other rescues that were all unsuccessful
But I was lucky enough to have the luxury of a few different "dates" since we have a constant supply of piggies and I was determined to find him a buddy. Since he's neutered I could try males or females. There were a few scary fights that were rolling around nasty experiences that I never need to repeat!
The director said she's had pigs that needed many dates before finding a match made in heaven and sometimes it just takes patience and time.
I'm so happy to report that Oliver FINALLY found his "matches" -yep 2 bonded girls were the magic pairing. I was trying to stick with just 1 buddy but sometimes these things are just meant to be! It was pretty much love at first sniff for one of the girls-Evie, and the other-Teddy was just going with the flow. For the first time there was no aggression or nipping and barely any rumblestrutting.
Evie is a slightly longer haired (longer than typical short haired but not a peruvian) crested, Oliver is in the middle, and Teddy is, in fact, a teddy. Doesn't Evie's "eye patch" remind you of the KISS band? LOL
Here's the happy trio:
