Is this cage okay? It is 18 square feet. Any suggestions or ideas to make it better?

As long as they are al open and now 3 individual cages, your good. Have you thought about fleece?

How many guineas do you have? It looks just fine. I don't see any water bottles.. Though they could be cut off from view in the picture :p Have you tried fleece yet? It's way less messy.

Oh! You should cover the ramps with some sort of cloth so that the piggies won't hurt their feet :)

I would put some kind of fabric over the wire ramp things going in between two of the cages. Wires can hurt their feet.

Each cage is just under 8 square feet.

It depends how many pigs you have. I don't see any in there but it's just fine for 2 or 3 piggies.

But yes, you should cover the one ramp that is just wire, that is a danger for pigs feet/legs to get stuck.

If that canvas gets to be a pain to clean (I hated it) you can get coroplast or the generic version at Home Depot for $12 and make liners to fit those cages. That's what I did and it worked great.

You must go thru a TON of bedding in there. You might want to think about fleece or a combo of fleece and bedding, it would save you some money.

Thanks everyone! I do have a water bottle it is just cut off from the view. I have two female pigs and each cage is 9 square feet with a total of 18 square feet. I wanted to do fleece but my dad won't let me because he says it stinks to much. I will put a cover over the ramp!! Thanks for that idea. Should I ask my dad again about using fleece?

Fleece won't stink as long as you clean the cage regularly. And if he says he doesn't want it washed in your washing machine because it's 'gross' then just tell him it's the same thing as washing your clothes when you were a little kid and weren't potty trained yet. :)

LOL!!!! My mother in law thinks it's gross that I put the dogs bowls in the dish washer. Some folks dont get the whole hot water and soap thing.

Actually it's way less gross. Far worse things have come out of both ends of my kids...still...

Yeah, definately cover the ramp. Coroplast covered with fabric or fleece will work well. That is a good sized cage for 2 or 3 guinea pigs. I would take out all the dividers (if you can) because it counts against running space.

The cage looks great, the only problem is canvas is a pain to clean! I would use coroplast on the bottom if I were you. Other then that, great job.
