Hi! I currently have one female pig and I am trying to find her a partner.
I looked for females to adopt but I have not had any luck.

So, I am now looking at males, but obviously they would have to be neutered.

I'm wondering what kind of cost I would be looking at.

It's probably really different in the US to here in NZ, but it cost $110 each for my boys to be done. :)

Good on you for thinking of other ways to get your girl a buddy!

It cost me $150 per pig, but lots of things are more expensive here in New England lol. That included the antibiotics and pain meds for after as well as the procedure and anesthesia. It did not include the well visit my vet required before setting a surgery date.

Adding: My neutered boar/intact sow pairing was effortless. So much easier than my sow/sow intro and my disaster of a boar/boar intro. They are so cute together :)

If I remember right it was about 140$ for my Porcupine. Depends on the vet and the area. I think generally you should expect it to be a little more then a cat or dog neuter, at least, since it takes an experienced small animal vet to do it. But again, just depends.

If you adopt from the Humane Society they have vouchers that take a small amount off. Every bit helps!

Sometimes you can find neutered males at rescues.

I am looking for another vet to do neuters for my rescue. The latest one I called charges $107. My regular vet charges me $80 since I'm a rescue.
