Seems like a lid would do the trick if he is able to climb over :)

I have tried a lid but he is able to push it up and squeeze out and get out some how (I guess that his nick name is hudenie for a reason) :)

How many spaces do your grids have? Can you post of photo of your cage so we can offer suggestions?

Your grids are 8*8 squares across. Those are the dangerous grids. Some pigs can get stuck or strangle themselves. See if you could overlap the grids.

Kmart has the dangerous grids. My idea, he maybe going through the grids or picking them up and going under them. My lone boar did this during floor time. That's when I taught him to have free range with me. Go to Bed Bath and Beyond.

Shopko is where I got my grids they are $20.00. My previous guinea pig Tulip was able to jump over the grids with ease! Especially when my friend brought her boyfriend Taz over for some supervised play time until we got her a friend to live with us.

Interesting....maybe just make a roof? Use the correct sized grids on the bottom and use the 8x8 grids for the roof.
