Okay so as I posted here: http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/introduce-yourself/81412-hello.html I recently took in a foster GP. I do have GP experience, and am familiar with their care, but I certainly still have a lot to learn. It occurred to me last night that I have never really looked very closely at a GP's nipples. The little girl I am fostering just arrived last night. Her nipples are black, and long. They don't look swollen that I can tell, but she wasn't really letting me get a good look either and I didn't want to stress her out any more than needed.

They look a bit like this (minus the crust)

This is a blurry picture of what they look like (this is a google pic, not her) re size and coloring:

I just need to know if this is normal, or if I need to bring her into the vet? Can someone show me a picture of what a normal, healthy GP nipple should look like? Thanks.

That looks normal to me..but I'd take her to a good cavy vets for a visit anyway to check that she is 100% healthy seeing as you've just got her.

Did she recently have a litter?
