I finally got the supplies to increase the g-pigs cages to 2x4 vs 2x3. I had to be a bit creative with the new supports thought because it was sagging a bit even with the closet supports that I used in the past, so I added a metal rod which firmed it up and got rid of the sag.
The 2 girls are up top with a loft and a main level kitchen. They use fleece for the main area and carefresh in the kitchen area.
The boys are down below and are messier so they have aspen bedding. I tied fleece with them for a long time but they were way messy. They do have fleece for their two loft areas. They don't have a true kitchen like the girls, the boys do have a double decker hay loft though. One usually eats from below and the other stands on the bridge above so they don't have to compete for space while munching on hay.
Below is a stand with storage. Each of the cages also has a side that folds down for easier cleaning and to enable us to reach far back into the upper cage. The cage is located in the kitchen breakfast nook that my kids use for crafts and homework, so the pigs get a ton of attention! (My human kids are 9, 11 and 13)
(First picture just shows how the side opens on the cage.)
