Has anyone ever bought Kaytee pellets in NSW because apparently there is a distributor in NSW, according to their site. If so, what location did you buy it at, and how much was it. Just an add-on question but does anyone know whether kaytee pellets are better or Oxbow.
Thank you

If you have access to KMS, Oxbow, or Australian versions of them, buy those instead of Kaytee. Kaytee is a terrible brand!!!!!! The stock is cheap, and made for pet stores. Some of their stuff can sit of the shelf for YEARS. The food is like junk food for the piggies! Get Oxbow if at all possible!!!!! There are some Australian and NZ members on here, so if you go onto you own personal forum for Australians and New Zealanders they'll help you get the best brands available for your piggies! Good luck!

I really don't recommend kaytee pellets, as they are high in fats and sugars. Oxbow is a much healthier choice.:cheerful:

I would not buy Kaytee products.

The information above is true.

Oxbow is the best store bought brand of everything for Piggy nutrition. The best ever, is (broken link removed)

It isn't cheap for the shipping, but when you figure out the price-per-poundage, it is WAAAAY cheaper than in a store.

Actually, shipping & the pellets for KMS to Australia is $61.95 USD for 10 lbs and for 20 lbs, shipping is $88.58 USD, so even the incredibly hard to find oxbow pellets are cheaper. It's extremely hard to find timothy hay pellets in Australia, let alone good quality pellets, but thanks for all the info on the pellets anyway.

Oxbow are available in a bunch of retail locations on their Aus website, as well as Ebay and mypetwarehouse.com.au.

Actually, this isn't true. When you comparing costs and figuring the cost per pound, you have to add KMS's shipping charges to the cost of the pellets, because the pet store has already done that and rolled it into the price. Since there's no way to know what the pet store shipping is, you have to add shipping to KMS to be able to compare apples to apples. And if you're close to KMS (Washington State), her pellets may be a little cheaper. If you're on the East Coast of the US, KMS will be higher. In the center of the country, they're right at the same price.

@jubespiggies, Oxbow is far better than Kaytee, although Kaytee has a new formulation that is a considerable improvement over the old one -- Kaytee New Timothy Complete. I feed KMS and have a huge supply, so I haven't tried these. But if Kaytee is your main choice, see if you can at least get the new kind.
