What is the best way to disinfect grids I purchased from Goodwill? They have some stickiness on them that I want to wash off, but didn't want to use something that would be bad for the guinea pigs if they ever came into contact with these grids. These particular grids will likely be just for the base of my upcoming project (c&c cage), but might not.

I would think Dawn dish detergent would be OK, as long as they are thoroughly rinsed

I would was them in dish detergent and then soak them in hot water and vinegar to kill any germs. Just a suggestion.:)

Precleaning them with dish soap or Goo Gone would help remove the stickiness, but to disinfect you want to use either a bleach or vineger solution.

With vinegar I would use a 50/50 solution with water and bleach I would use a 10/90 solution with water. Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly, and you'll be good to go.
