My Dad has given me lots of complaints about hay being on the ground. I currently use (broken link removed) hay rack. It is very messy.

What do you guys use? Pictures would be great, by the way.

Thanks! :)

I actually copied the same design as a cereal box without a top and cut a "window". You could always use a cereal box as well and wrap it in pretty paper. I zip tied it to the side of my cage.

I made the same folds in the coro so it folded like a cereal box. Here is a rough drawing. The dotted lines are where you score it to fold, the solid lines are cuts. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1337222070.225124.jpg

This is my hay rack. I made it out of a bent grid. It's zip tied at the bottom to a large piece of coroplast, that helps keep hay from getting all over the place. It hinges at the bottom, and we keep it closed with a lobster clasp at the top. The piggies live it and because they can't get all the way under it, it limits how much hay they pee on. Oh and I zipped tied coroplast to the sides do they can't climb in.

You can use a cereal box and see how you like it. Just cut a hole in the front and attach it to the grids.

I use the BB&B utensil holder in the kitchen area and it keeps the hay contained fairly well.

Do you have pics or a link so we can see what you're talking about?

I have this suet feeder zip tied to the cage, with coroplast behind it to keep the hay from falling onto the floor. The top of the suet feeder opens up. It works GREAT!

I tried to use one of those... My piggies looked at me like I was crazy and ate the hay that fell on the ground but wouldn't pull any out of it!! :(

Mine looked at it funny for a while, but then they seemed to get used to it and started using it. Works great for us now.
