I want to give my piggies the best home they can have, but I have limited space as far as C&C cages go. They're in a pet store cage right now, and they're both only about 2 - 3 months old. There's a small space between the register vent and the dresser for it to go, and if it extended out from the wall I wouldn't have any room to walk.

Here's a photo:

So you see my dilemma. I have a bit of time since they're little yet and we're redoing my room so we just have to add in the carpet still.

I have a vent I didn't want to cover either so this is how I solved the problem. you could use grids to raise a coroplast cage off the ground and add a deflector to force the air forward, instead of up.

That would be a great space for a 2x4 or even a 2x5 C&C. Walmart cell a small 4 foot folding table that you could sit it on.
You can get these little things at walmart as well that you put over your vent to redirect the air. So, you can set it direct the air out instead of up. This is how I have my cages set up and it works great.

Sorta hard to see the table in this pic.
Here is the tabel I have it sitting on: 4-Foot Portable Lightweight Buffet Folding Table - Walmart.com
