What can I use as a litter tray?

I've seen the ones made for guinea pigs/ferrets/rabbits, I have 3 boars will one tray be enough for them? I'm also wondering if there are better alternatives than the ones sold in pet stores.

I know litter training isn't for everyone, but I'm doing an experiment that may be with enough patience litter training might work. :)

If you have any scrap coroplast from their cage ( if you used it) that could be potentially made into a tray.
