My now 5.5 year old male had a tumor on his back over a year ago. We had it surgically removed and the surgery and healing went very well. He was back to himself in a few days. The vet was afraid it might come back but because its been over a year, I had just started feeling really optimistic. However, the tumor is back in the same place.
He goes back to the vet today but I am very worried. He means so much to me. Have any of you dealt with cancer with your pigs? What was your experience like?
More than anything, I am just asking for prayers for my little boy!

You and your piggy are in my thoughts and prayers! I had an older dog who has growths all over her and we had to put her down, it was the hardest thing ='(

It was definitely a tumor? How did the vet diagnose it? I ask because sebaceous cysts can reoccur in the same place.

I will definitely be praying for your boy! Just the week before Christmas I had to have my first ever rat PTS after a short but painful problem with a mammary tumor that attached itself to her back leg. It can be such a hard time but it's great you're here for support to help you through anything! Good luck

I just wanted to give a quick update--
The vet isnt too worried about the lump and it has a lot of scar tissue from his first surgery. She feels that is is benign and we are going to keep an eye on it and hope it doesn't grow or get worse in any way.
That is a big relief...now I just need to hope and pray that everything is fine in the long run while I keep an eye on him. He is such a special little guy. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers.
