I'm a newbie guinea pig owner from Barcelona.

My sheltie pig feels alone and claustrophobic, so this week I'm building her a cool cage and bringing her a new friend.

Welcome to the forum! :)

This is a great site with lots of great information, so be sure to check it out and do some reading. It's great to hear that your building your piggie a cage and getting her a friend. We would love to see some pictures of her!

'ello!
Make sure to check out the cages on this site. They're pretty awesome! Like guinea pig mansions. I got my cage ideas from here and now i don't have a living room. :D
I gave all my space to my piggies.

Sure! I've been reading this site often during the last month.

I've located the coroplast on my city but i'm having problems locating the cubes in Spain (or somewhere in Europe that delivers to Spain).

I have the opposite problem! lol!
I found the cubes, but i've been using cardboard because no one in Hawaii has chloroplast.
Wanna trade?? ;)

Welcome! Wow! Our international membership is really growing. I think you're the first person I've seen from Spain, though. I'd be interested to hear about guinea pigs in your country -- how many there are, vet care, rescues/shelters, etc.

Cupcake - Cardboard boxes with a vynal shower curtain over them. Works just as well as long as your pig doesn't chew on the shower curtain.

Sign store in Aiea sells it. Just got off the phone with them. Thank goodness.
I didn't even think about a shower curtain... Wouldn't that just soak up liquid and smell?

No use a plastic one, it would protect the cardboard and then put your bedding inside. Like this. The stripe stuff is actually a water proof table cloth with cardboard underneath.

That is the cutest! Mine won't lay like that unless it's on my hair or shoulder. He's wired. I think it's all that Mountain Dew i put in his water bottle.

(That was a joke. Don't kill me.)

Ben is awesome. He's lazy, friendly, not much ruffles his feathers, and he loves food. He's super friendly too and actually likes my kids. Ha!

You might want to try caffeine free from now on. =)

In Spain guinea pigs are called cobayas or "conejillo de indias" (translates to "Indian rabbits").

I'm new on this topic, but there's a big community of spanish speaking guinea pig owners:
