My guinea pig seems to have dandruff on his head, and he has been treated for mites... two weeks ago with Revolution.

When I scratched him on his head, it seems some fur came off and it looks a little flaky - white.

It is my understanding that Revolution also treats lice.

The skin looks fine... pink and healthy. No scabs or anything like that. Could this be dandruff?

Everything I have read suggests that folks lean more towards mites... Can guinea pigs have a genuine case of dandruff? Would fur come off in that case???

Thank you.

Topical treatments like Revolution and Ivermectin can leave the skin a little dry and flaky. Guinea pigs can have flaky skin, yes, and bathing often can exacerbate the problem.
