I read somewhere that you need to worm guinea pigs every few months. Is this true? Or should I only do this if I know they need it?

You do not need to worm pigs at all.

My vet worms my piggies and rabbits. Shouldn't I do it?

If it can be done, I'd like to do it as a precaution... Where I live, there are no vets that can treat small animals.

They can get internal parasites but it is rare and you don't have to 'deworm' as a precaution though you can treat for mites and do it at the same time if you use oral ivermec.

Oral Ivermec? Would that work the same as the topical treatment??

A rescue I foster for does Revolution on each pig they adopt out. I believe it is to prevent parasites and other nasties. The only reason we do so is we don't always know where or what these animals have been living in, for some of them, so it's just a precautionary measure. As such, you don't need to Revolution your own pigs. No need--waste o' money.
