No, that would probably have the same effect as cat litter. It would be bad for their respitory sytem and nasty to clean up, and really heavy.

I totally agree with Dagwell. I cannot imagine having sand in my house and on my floors 24/7. We do beach vacations every year and after about the second day I'm ready for the sand to be GONE!

Sand is not a type of bedding that is suitable for cavies.
