Always heard everywhere this was the sound they do when not enjoying something.
Doby does it when I walk holding him. He hates that, but starts cooing and all when I sit with him on laps or leaving him running around on bed or couch. He also rumbles when I touch him while feeding

I've heard it also means they are happy and comfortable
