Hello all! My name is Becca, but a lot of my friends call me Bec, Becrz, or Purps (dem purps). I'm 22 and am about to adopt my first two guinea pigs. I reside in the lovely and melt-your-face-off-hot state of Texas (which, I do love so dearly) and have been here my entire life minus an unfortunate 11 months spent in North Platte, NE (no offense to any Nebraskians--it just wasn't my cuppa).
I'm working full-time at an awesome pizza joint here in town--not that that REALLY has anything to do me adopting piggies.
Anywho, I had posted an ad on craigslist about maybe taking some people's guinea pig supplies off their hands. You know, hay, toys, hideys, those kinds of things. Last night, a man replied to my ad saying that they were looking to sell their two pigs and everything they have for the pigs because their song is allergic. Included is an obviously too-small-for-two rabbit hutch they've been housing the piggies in. But no to worry! I shall be ordering my C&C kit as soon as humanly possible to make more room for these two. I'm not entirely sure of the ages of these two boars, but their names are Archie and Jughead (hehe, get it?) and this couple has had them for about 7-8 months.
I'm full excited AND nervous about this. I've always owned hamsters in my life when it comes to small animals, so pigs are going to be a new adventure for me. I've been exploring around on different sites and in books learning about them as well as asking friends who have or do own them currently. I can't wait until the day I get my C&C in and I can build them a new home.
Anyway, this is Becrz signing off... for now.
