I'm making a hidey. Help with materials please!

I'm going to make a custom fitted wooden style hidey at the weekend for my c&c cage.

Any tips on what sort of wood I need to use, and also what sort of material I need to 'fix' the corners and roof together? Is there a type of glue that would be safe to use?

Help please!

I dont know much about glue or nails but if you can find aspen I think that would be best.

somebody who knows more about this particular subject please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks, I've found out that sticking with a glue gun is ok as it's non toxic...
