HELP! Guinea Pig tooth problems....

My 3 year old abby has recently been diagnosed with occluded back teeth. He is now receiving regular vet visits to keep his teeth short but his jaw unable to sit properly now and he is drooling.
I know he is having problems eating and I worry about his comfort but he is still active and full of life and WANTS to eat.
Can anyone help me find a soft food for a guinea pig?? Is there such a thing and where could I get it?? He still gets his regular pellets and hay and he likes raisins for a treat. I feel that if he had something he didn't have to work so hard on he'd eat more.
I appreciate any help you can provide.

I don't want him to suffer and I am trying to determine what is best for him atm.

Hi

Sorry about you pis :(

I don't know if this would work but perhaps you could soften his pellets for him with a little water? or even make them into a mash?
You could make purees of veggies to feed him too

Well I have been mashing up the pellets with and without water but he isn't really taking to them. I 'think' he's eating it... but I'm not sure. I was just hoping to find an alternative that might be better.
But thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

Oxbow makes a soft guinea pig food mix called Critical Care. You can order it from their website and they'll send it after they inform your vet. The website is (broken link removed)

You may want to visit www.guinealynx.info and read about jaw troubles like TMJ.

There is also a great forum over they you want to consider joining.

Good luck to your piggy!

syringe

u could make a liquid mix in a blender with whatever u want (vegtebles for example) and feed it to him through a syringe (no needle, ur vet should have them). It worked wonderfuly when my cleopatra had a URI and wouldn't eat any vegtebles for months. and he may even enjoy eat.
