We finally got our new baby!!! She has been in quarantine for 2 weeks now and we know she has no illnesses, and is a female! :cheerful:

(We sadly got rid of Peanut, but he went to a good home! My friend took him in because she has two boys already. But we miss him! :guilty:)

So just now we introduced them and they are still sniffing each other now as I type. She's so cute and lovable!

My question is, what is normal for picking dominance and first meets and what not. Thanks a lot!

Oh and sorry if this is in the wrong forum!

So, let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. You had a male pig just long enough to get your current pig pregnant, and now you've swapped him out for what you believe to be a female? Is that correct?

Well, were still not sure if Poppy is pregnant, but we gave Peanut up to my friend a while ago, but we visited him today and he was very happy!

And Poppy has never not had a friend for a long period of time so we thought she might be lonely. The local shelter had a guinea pig just dropped off, so we thought we'd take her.
So she went into quarantine (I used the temp cage Peanut was using while he was still here) and everything turned out fine with her and the vet said it was OK to introduce them today so I did.

And Ly, thanks for the link!
