My older piggies are droping massive amounts of fur, and is not spot droping... the fur drops all over their bodies, but there is no spot completely out of fur...

externaly, there are no parasites or mits...
does anyone know what may be?

I feed them with the same food since I bought them, and also with bermuda hay and fresh veggies listed in one awesome topic here at the board.

Thanks in advance!

Mites are too small to be seen with the naked eye. I would definitely treat with ivermectin.

Guinea Lynx :: Ivermectin (http://www.guinealynx.info/ivermectin.html)

Not all cases of mites have the "typical" patterns of hairloss, and when given at the appropriate dose, ivermectin is extremely safe. It's worth trying a course of 3-5 doses 7-10 days apart, for all your pigs.

Are the pigs with hair loss female? Sows can develop ovarian cysts and other reproductive problems that can lead to hormonal imbalances and hair loss. These imbalances can also aggravate a case of mites, and mites are more common that hormonal problems anyway. So, treat for mites! Your pigs will thank you.
