Re: cleaning

I don't use coroplast cages, but I don't think it's neccessary to put down newspaper first.

You need to just spray the bottom and sides with the mixture of vinegar and water, and then put down your bedding. But be sure to wipe the cage dry *before* putting down bedding.

Cleaning cages is all very simple, if you have a plan to go by.

If your cage is sitting on a table or object(which I hope it is), you can put a trash can beside the table or whatever the cage is on, open a grid on one side of the cage, and push all of the bedding out into the trash can below.

Good luck! :D

Re: cleaning

I use newspaper under hay, I also use shredded newspaper, which the piggies like to play in. I put an extra thick layer in the toilet corner which makes that much easier to clean up.
You don't need the paper though, I just find it a bit easier.

cage on table or object?

Why not just on the floor (which mine is). Is this because of drafts? I have draft stoppers by the doors to help prevent this. I had the cage on a table originally, but had to move it to the floor....

re: cage on floor

fcarr, I think most people advise against the floor for two reasons. One is drafts, the other is noise/vibrations. If one has a nervous pig, the sound and sight of (to them) giant feet appearing out of nowhere may make them anxious. My cage is on the floor because I don't have enough room for a table. I just make sure that he's warm enough and noises are kept to a minimum around him.
