I just washed my fleece with vinegar since I read it helps take the horrible smell out. But it still smell AWFUL. I just put it back in the washer again with more vinegar since I couldn't stand it.

I have a Whirlpool front loading washer if that makes any difference, so how much vinegar should I use, and do I also use detergent? Fabric softener?

No fabric softeners or dryer sheets. It makes it so the fleece won't wick.

Also the more soap you use the more soap that stays in the fabric. That may react with the scent of the urine and make it smelly too. If you use a lot of soap do an extra spin cycle so that it gets it all out.

I don't use vinegar in my wash so can't tell you how much to use.

I use Arm & Hammer detergent with baking soda... and 2 cup vinegar with the rinse cycle with additional baking soda if necessary. I heard someone else mentioned baking soda as well I think.

So far, my fleece smells OK.

I always use vinegar in the wash for the pigs. I fill the fabric softener compartment, and then a pour a bit in with the detergent. Not exactly sure how much, probably about 1c in total.
