I have been searching every where for grids and I had no luck. Well, there is one more place I will go soon. In the meantime I had to do something because the 1ft x 2ft cage was so pitiful. I had the grids from my playpen for them and I also used the grids from the cage I had her in. Her new cage is not as big as I would like, but is a whole lot better than what she was in. Now she is in a 27x27. I also made a top with the grids since it is so low. I am not sure how many grids because the grids I used from the playpen seem smaller than the regular grids everyone is using on here. I have to also say that it is not as high as I would like, but I plan to build up to fix that. She is so happy with her new spot. She has been doing the popcorn thing all over which she did not do in her other so small cage. I will take pics soon.
I was wondering how high can they jump normally and how good of climbers are they? I am asking because I am wondering if the top is needed. The grids are only 9in high so I am worried she may get out. What does everyone think?
I also decided to give my male away. I felt like my friend could better care for him than I could 2 pigs. I gave him to a good friend that is right down the road. I wrote all the information about feeding him and etc.(I have copied her the whole diet menu from here) I told her she probably thought I was crazy because I was going on and on about what to do and what not to do, but she was understanding and pleased that I gave her so much info on guinea pigs. I am happy to know he will be well taken care of.
