I have a room totally dedicated to my pigs. In it i built a large mansion. It starts with a 3 x 6 play and eat area. In it are their shavings, and hideys and food dishes. A ramp leads them to another cage..a long 2 x 8. In this cage I lined it with fleece and towels. i built a little loft/ledge and lined it with soft fleece and bedding. Then a ramp leads them down to a new cage I just built this weekend. It's a 2 x 5 cage I built just to fill with hay so they can run throug it and hide, eat and sleep in it. yes, I will be changing the hay often enougn. With a cage with these dimensions, I think is sufficient space. However it's the middle of winter and I don't have carpeting on my wood floors anywhere in the house. My house is kept cool so for health reasons, i don't let them run around on my floor. However in the summer, they spend supervised hours outside on the grass in a great large, rabbit pen (but without the rabbits). I spend considerable time daily in the breezeway. I see that my boys run like mad all throughout the cage. They went crazy over the "burrown pen." My husband just rolls his eyes everytime he goes in there. Any advice anyone???
