My pigs cage never smelled until I started using fleece! I use newpaper then towels then fleece. Why does it smell? I scoop their poop up at least once a day! I recently cleaned it fully with vinegar and all and it smells already. Plus, the room itself smells a bit because I have to close the door to keep out our dog. Any ideas to help the smell? Thanks

Try piddle pads instead of newspaper. I get the walmart brand that are sold on the adult diaper aisle. You can also use doggie wee wee pads - they ahve baking soda in them and absorb the urine and neutralize it.

Hmmm....I use fleece, and never really had any problems with the smell. I agree with katiecavyNC, try a different layer instead of the newspaper, puppy pads, or try adding another layer of towels to what you already have. Any pee shouldn't be soaking all the way down to the paper.
