Hello All,

So in a matter of weeks I'm going to be building a 2 story C&C cage measuring 2x4 on the bottom and 2x2 on the top for my piggie, Fyodor Dostoevsky (and his future roommate). Since I need to build a ramp up to the 2nd floor, I was wondering what I should use to construct the ramp?

I've noticed in a lot of pictures that people use some sort of material that is very similar to the grids themselves. I'm wondering, where did they find it?

Thanks,

Collin and Fyodor.

My ramp is a 2 grids that I put a 2 x 4 in the center, I stood on it while a stronger person bent the grids upward. I then zip tied the two together to make the incline as gentle as possible and then lined it with a strip of carpet. It works great.

I just used scrap pieces of coroplast covered in fleece. I did construct some "treads" and added them on to make sure they had traction.
Here is my ramp:

Alright, thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to try them out. Anybody got anything else?

Look through the ramp section in the galleries for tons of ideas! My own ramp is made from two bent grids covered with carpet.

JarBax, that's kind of what I'm leaning towards right now. How hard is it to bend it at the right angle?

Put your foot in the middle of the grid, then bend upwards, against the weight of your foot. It isn't toooo difficult (but go slowly - as sometimes the grid can snap). I have never attempted a right angle - have gone for an ergonomic curve instead!:)

Ah yes, the curve. That's what I mean.

That doesn't sound too hard. I should be able to make it work.

Thanks!
