I am wanting to make my own guinea pig toys with parrot toy parts (large hardwood shapes and marbella rings etc) but I know that I shouldnt assemble it using string so I was wondering what other alternatives there are. I thought about using a wire coat hanger but I dont think its durable enough. Is anything like sisal rope ok?

I bought Lina a bird toy made out of plastic rings that hook together. Each ring has a space that you can use to slip over another ring. You could put it together using that.

I too have used the rings that hook together they are called "goofy links". They work really well and you can connect them to other toys.

What other toys did you use? My pigs weren't all that impressed with the links by themselves (Mine were the "heart links".)

I never realized bird toys were so expensive! I bought a small one with a few large bits and a bell at the end and it cost almost 6 dollars!
