Extra Toe??

Ive only had my piggies just over a week now so they havent had a huge amount of handling yet, didnt want to overscare them. But, yesterday i was lookin at jacks claws cos theyre gettin a bit sharp nd might need blunting off soon and he has an extra toe on his left back leg. Im not sure what to do about it as the nail is quite curled nd needs trimmin but he doesnt have any control over the toe and i dont want to hold onto it as it flops about a lot and doesn't seem all that firmly attached. It doesnt seem to bother him but I was wondering whether i should take him to the vets and have it removed just in case he catches it somewhere. What do people think?
