I've been wondering, would carpet insulator be alright for a replacement for coroplast until we find some? We've got quite alot here at home.

Are you speaking of carpet padding? I am not sure what carpet insulator is. If you are speaking of padding, I just don't know how it would work as far as keeping it dry etc. Give us a bit more info as far as what you are talking about.

Do you mean underlay?

If so, then no, it absorbs liquid and takes forever to dry.

Learnt that when mum flooded the back end of the house, unless it's a really good brand it will just fall apart as soon as it get's wet.

Lino is another alternative, and you could probably make a temp cage out of remnants from a flooring store.
