Hey guys, I'm about to get 2 female pigs, and my mom and I are trying to decide how to build a cage for very cheap. We love the C&C cages, but no where can we find Coroplast, or online for cheap. We were wondering if we could use sheet metal as a bottom instead of coroplast. Could it hurt them? We were thinking of Linolium, but do not know how you guys can get the sides to stay up as if a box. We would like the 2 piece idea, so we can clean the bottom of the cage and the pigs can still stay safe in the grid part as we clean. We couldn't find grids either, but found a "playpen" that has the 8, 13 inch long sides snap together we can use instead. Any help would be great!

have you tried the yellow pages for "sign shops". I sure your bound to find coroplast. Dont bother buying online, the shipping cost are usually quite ridiculous!

Allready tried. All the sign shops are out of town. Fortunatly I foud some left over linolieum in the garage, is there anyway to construct it so the sides hold up on their own? Like a box or the coroplast can? Perhaps if I score the sides and tape the corners together on the outside would work?

You can cable ties the 4 corner so that it will hold like a box.

You can also cable tie the sides to the cubes if you don't want it to bend over. Sheet metal is cold in winter and hot in summer. It can also have extremely sharp edges your pigs can accidentally cut themselves on. Hope this helps! =)

Whatever you do, I wouldn't use sheet metal.... that could be EXTREAMLY dangerous for your pigs and even sometimes you!
