Hello. My name is Elizabeth and my mom had a guineapig, Abigal and she recently today passed away. She was a energic, baby guineapig about 3 months old. She showed no symptoms of wheezing, runny eyes, or anything. I'm just confused on what happened. Can someone help me please?

First of all, you have my sympathies. I recently had a piggie pass, and I know it can be heartbreaking.

The only way you will be able to find out what happened though is to take Abigail to the vet and have a necropsy (autopsy) done. That way, they could check her blood and organs and see if there was an illness that she was hiding from you.

My mother just buried her this mourning so sadly we can't go check what was wrong with Abigal :( I'm just so clueless and sad.

I too lost a beloved pig with no warning a month ago today. He was not sick and showed no signs. I am still clueless. Piggies can hide an illness so well sometimes you don't have a chance to get them to a vet. I am so sorry for your loss. Know you gave her the very best while she was in your care and that she was loved.

Sorry for your loss. The best thing any cavy slave can do is to learn all the signs of illness and weigh your pigs weekly.

its so sad when a piggie passes away.. my guinea pig died when he was 5 years old because he could not eat anymore.. he died on my lap :) it was kind of nice cause the last thing that he saw/felt/heard was me.. and he knew that i loved him.. but to all of you just think about your gnps that they are now in a better place.. no pain anymore :)
